Extractions Before removing a tooth we will take an xray to determine there are no alternatives to saving the tooth. To make you comfortable, we will give you a local anesthetic to numb the area where the tooth will be removed. Nitrous oxide inhalation can also be used to help relax you during the procedure. During the procedure, the doctor will gently place rotation which aids in the comfortable removal of the tooth. He will separate the tissue connecting the tooth to the bone and then remove the tooth. Sometimes the he may section the tooth into smaller pieces to make it easier to extract. After the tooth is removed, you may need a suture placed. Most sutures dissolve over time and you shouldn't need a follow up visit. You will leave our office with further post operative instructions. |
